Morning Magic:

CRADDOCK
Every once in a while we take a beat from our fashion forward emails to explore the art that is music. Music is universal. It's a language that spans across cultures and time and it has the power to permeate the human form on so many levels. Music is a physical experience, an emotional friend, and a spiritual guide. What a fantastic gift music is for humanity! In this series, we share playlists, review musical artists both old and new, and ruminate on music’s profound influence in our lives.
Co-Founder Virginia Craddock shares Morning Magic.
Lately I’ve been finding that my best self shows up between 6am and 7am. Still in my pajamas, and on my first cup of coffee, my mind is clear but I’m not really focused on anything quite yet. The critical thinking part of my brain is still asleep and I’m in that empty place of where thoughts float up like bubbles. I’m aware of my body and it feels good to sit in my underwear and socks; the air is a little cold on my skin but the coffee is warm and sweet. It’s lovely, and I am knowing the loveliness.
Some other things that light me up in the morning…
1. This handmade mug that my partner Marika crafted for me in her studio in Croatia. I love a beautiful vessel made by a beautiful person.
2. Perfectly jammy eggs. Truly. I think Alison Roman called them jammy eggs and now, not only do I love the eggs but I love that word. Jammy. Jammy jam. Jammy jamerson. Jammy mcjampot. Its one of those Dr. Suessy words…
Honestly, I hope I come back as a dog in my next life.
3. Smaller living things. The first sounds of my morning are usually the incessant meowing of our tabby cats, followed by the quick click-clack of my dog, Hope, who is a love-giving angel-of-a-creature who has never not greeted the morning with full-body-shaking anticipation of the amazing day ahead. Honestly, I hope I come back as a dog in my next life.
